Animal Control
Our views concerning the basic business plan and functions of Animal Control Care Facilities, is based on years of experience being a No Kill Animal Rescue and Shelter.
We are networked with Veterinarians, Vet Techs, Animal Therapists and Shelters from around the World. Each of us, experiencing the neglect and abuse that animals suffer at the hands of people. Animal Control is no different, in fact they may see more than the rest of us, daily dealing with issues that are all public related... and as in any business, you have good employees and bad employees. Our system weeds out the bad so that good can grow. We endorse the successful program initiated by Bill Bruce - Director of Animal Control in Calgary Alberta. We want to see the functions of Animal Control and their job descriptions, pulled out of the dark ages and brought into a new era. We are not hopefuls, we know the challenges and how easy it can be to slip into situations that are overwhelming - keeping ones head high and placing value on life, is the only attitude that keeps a positive energy to develop new ways of communicating information and achieving high success rates. Education truly is the key on all levels - beginning from ground level right to guiding a first time pet owner, in the direction of what kind of pet would best suit them and their lifestyle... every detail of pet ownership, the treatment of animals and responsible pet ownership is essential to building bonds that create forever homes while developing insight to the value of animal's lives . This document is based on the main steps of a business plan and guidelines to run an Animal Control facility. It is informative to those who do not work in an animal care facility, however, the document is intended to be copied and printed up, to send by registered mail to your local government heads and animal control managers, in a request for change. In this manner, you are not just confronting the problem by pointing fingers, you are constructively approaching the issue diplomatically and legally, offering solutions that have been tried, tested and true. The PDF booklet/document is not based on our opinions, it is based on facts and experiences of many in the trade. We are not trying to rile up emotions, we are offering a tool of submission, for betterment. Be the Change You Seek. Leadership of example is required by Animal Control Facilities - as a public service, government department. We expect it of schools, the license bureau, or any other institute that represents our structured values. Animal Control is no different. Please Save a Copy of the Animal Control Document to Your Computer. Read it so you can endorse it. Print up a copy to send to your local Government - or a petitioned Government, that is neglecting change of outdated methods concerning the well being of animals in care at their Animal Control Facilities. Send another copy to the Manager of the Animal Control Facility under that Government Departments care.... Both letters should be mailed as Registered Letters so you obtain proof you sent them. If you truly believe in your actions against a Government and their animal control Facility, do searches on statistics of animal intake euthanasia in the area targeted. Find out the statistics / demographics for population, unemployment and any Media News articles (Associated Press, Sun Media or other respected news reports), find out as much as you can to add it to the portfolio you send with pointers you may have. When enough people do these actions, targeting one by one, public awareness is exercised and Governments need to respond. (another reason why your Documents need to be sent Registered Mail) If you have enough information that you can present us based on a Government Run Animal Control Facility that you wish to be targeted - facts, statistics, gassing, high kill, proof of abuse - contact usto get the process started... |
